New Partnership Highlight: eSmart Recycling

Friends of the Children – Tampa Bay (“FOTC”) and eSmart Recycling are happy to announce the kickstart of a new program aimed at providing computers to kids in our community who do not have access to technology. Friends of the Children – Tampa Bay is the local chapter of a national Network. FOTC deploys trained, professional mentors to act as “life coaches” for children who face numerous obstacles and challenges. Each “Friend” builds relationships with 8 – 10 children beginning at age five and lasting for 12 ½ years - no matter what - resulting in meaningful, measurable impacts. eSmart Recycling was begun in Tampa in 2014 with a simple, powerful mission: to recycle old technology from individuals and companies, at the highest compliance standards, and use a portion of the proceeds to fund tech labs for kids without access to computers worldwide. The start of this new collaboration will consist of the deployment of 15 fully refurbished laptops so that the FOTC team can deliver them to youth they are serving around Tampa Bay. With this new program, both partners want to help bridge the digital divide and bring incredible results to kids and families in our community in a sustainable way.
