Maya Ellis is a Professional Mentor with a heart for empowering youth and families. She is a graduate of The University of South Florida and uses her education and experience in business and psychology to impart and give back to her community.
Maya found her passion for youth by volunteering at HCC Child Development Center when she was in high school and worked her way up to an elementary school teacher throughout the years. She has a passion for providing opportunities for deserving youth, improving mental health and giving a sense of family and community to Tampa Bay children.
Maya is a member of the East Tampa Safety Committee where she is dedicated to keeping the streets of East Tampa safe for all residents. Maya lives by Pastor Ron Ellis’ philosophy, “Believe, Achieve, Maximize,” and encourages youth to not only achieve their goals and potential, but to surpass it.
Outside of work Maya is engulfed in all thing’s art related from portrait painting to nail design. She is an avid painter and frequently engages in community art projects for East Tampa youth. She is an active member of her church and currently stands as a director of the youth ministry. She has a strong love for all animals and has a very adorable orange Tabby cat named Spice.
Maya is grateful for the opportunity to develop strong relationships with each of the youth that she will serve and is dedicated to the 12,5-year commitment to empower and support the children and their families.
