Jerrese Turner

Professional Mentor

Jerrese is honored to be a part of Friends of the Children, an organization that does so much for deserving youth in the Tampa Bay community. Prior to joining Friends of the Children, Jerrese worked in the Social Science Research field as a field interviewer and data collector and in Child Care as a Nanny and Classroom assistant.

Jerrese began her childcare career as a full-time nanny 13 years ago and 3 years later joined ‘Along the Way' a grass roots Philadelphia based non-profit that provides free in-home childcare to single mothers working non-traditional hours. In 2018 after relocating to Florida she worked as a Field Interviewer and Data Collector for RTI International (an independent, non-profit social science research institute) as well as a Teacher's Aid /Classroom Assistant for Orange County and Pinellas County schools. In 2019 she joined the 'Nannies Who Care' agency which has been voted 'Best of the Bay' for 3 consecutive years (2018,2019,2020). Her hobbies and interests include photography, cyber security, reading, and trips to the beach.

In her spare time Jerrese also volunteers for Ourrescue.org, and Countertraffickingalliance.com, non-profit organizations that provide rescue and rehabilitation services for victims of child trafficking. She also serves as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem for Herotoachild.org.

Jerrese feels Friends of the Children is a viable solution to the barriers that can hinder a young person from reaching their full potential and prevent them from accomplishing the goals and milestones necessary for achieving academic success. She is excited and honored to be a part of the Friends of the Children Tampa Bay chapter.
